In the High-Voltage sector, the management and staff of GCF POWER have developed professional expertise and decades of experience in the implementation of "turnkey" projects across Europe (mainly in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Finland, the Netherlands, and Sweden), as well as in Africa and Asia.

This is an activity traditionally carried out by a very limited number of operators in Italy due to its specific nature and the high level of technological expertise required. It is therefore recognised as a highly specialised sector.

Our services

The company provides its clients with the most advanced equipment and the know-how required for the construction and stringing of any type of power line, thereby ensuring a General Contracting service (turnkey), including the supply of materials.

Also thanks to the support of the G.C.F. Group, GCF POWER is able to develop customised solutions covering the entire process, from design, assembly and installation, through to the construction and maintenance of high-voltage power grids:

  • EPC and EPC+F project management
  • Turnkey construction of overhead and underground high-voltage power lines, from design through to commissioning
  • Supply, type testing and FATs
  • Routine and extraordinary maintenance of high-voltage lines, including foundation rehabilitation, tower reinforcement, replacement of conductors, earth wires, insulators and line accessories

Engineering Services

  • Management of transmission line rights-of-way
  • Survey and optimisation of steel structures
  • Geotechnical investigations
  • Preliminary and detailed design of structures and civil works
  • Preparation of stringing plans and erection schedules
  • Commissioning and energisation

Procurement and testing of permanent plant materials

  • Procurement, type testing, routine testing and factory acceptance testing
  • Delivery to site of:
    metal structures (towers), insulator strings, line hardware and accessories, phase conductors, earth wires, and optical-fibre earth wires (OPGW – Optical Ground Wire)

Installation and other activities

  • Project and site management

  • Stringing and sag adjustment of phase conductors, earth wires and OPGW, including conductor splicing
